Bridging Healthcare Barriers in Heston West and Cranford

C-Change West London and Heston West Big Local has published the CORE20 Hounslow Resident Engagement Report, focusing on the healthcare challenges and opportunities in the diverse communities of Heston West and Cranford. This comprehensive study engaged over 100 residents through interviews, surveys, and focus groups, revealing critical barriers to healthcare access, such as social isolation, long GP appointment times, and stigma affecting minority and low-income groups.

The report highlights the importance of community-led initiatives to foster trust and improve wellbeing. Activities included wellbeing events, creative clubs, and communal hot lunches, offering invaluable insights into local issues and needs. Proposed solutions include flexible GP appointment times, enhanced use of pharmacists, and increased community engagement through outreach programmes.
