FAQ
1) I received the postcard, how does this service work?
The postcards can be used in two ways. Firstly, if you know someone/a neighbour who may need help during this period of self-isolation, you are welcome to write your personal details on the postcard and deliver it to your neighbour. They will then will need to contact you for support if you left your details, however, they are welcome to contact us if they need more information and/or further support.
If you received the card and if you require support, then please complete the form (above) OR you can contact us on 07840047771 and we’ll ask a few quick questions to see how we can help you.
2) How to do screen people to ensure the right support is going to the right person/family?
We will priorities the elderly and people with disabilities in our Big Local community. We will also try and support families on low income or with additional needs. We will ask these questions during the screening process.
3) If I require support, can I ask for support more than once?
Yes, absolutely you can! We aim to try and help.
4) Who will deliver the items/support me?
We have some great local volunteers and they’ll be happy to help. This will be discussed during the screening process. We are also working with other local groups and approved organisations such as food banks and temples who’ll be able to support such as providing hot vegetarians meals to the door.
5) If I require something urgently, how long will it take?
This all depends on first the availability of the item and also how long it’ll take us to source it for you. We’ll always try our best to help and if we cannot help right now we’ll let you know and we will come back to you as soon as possible.
6) Are the essential items free?
We aim to supply a few essential items for free (depending on availability and stock in the local area) if you are elderly, vulnerable or disabled. However we won't be able to pay for your personal shopping needs. Please call to discuss your requirements.
7) I don't require support but I would love to volunteer and help out. How can I volunteer my support?
