By MADE in HESTON WEST Our busy and brilliant Big Local Youth Action Team organised our Christmas Party on 16th December 2018 at Cranford Community College. Our young and adult volunteers did an amazing job, bringing Christmas cheer and joy to all our attendees. Let's re-wind the clock and enjoy the fun and festive highlights. A few days later our enthusiastic young volunteers brought even more joy by delivering Christmas gifts - donated by the Met Police and DHL to our Heston West community.

By Youth Action Team On Friday 21st December 2018 our team of enthusiastic and dedicated young and adult volunteers – led by a 10 years old Santa Claus - delivered the gifts to the Redwood Estate, Brabazon Estate and Harlech Gardens Estates. The presents were kindly donated by the Metropolitan Police and the hampers were donated by DHL. In total we delivered to 12 local families reaching over 50 people. On receiving the gifts, one mother said that it ‘made her year’ and another added that ‘it made her and the whole family feel loved by the community.’ The volunteers felt a great sense of community and pride in their area during the gift-giving. Mario Zapata, 13, said: “I really enjoyed helping out, it was so nice to see the joy on people’s faces.” Lerin Bajaj, 15, added: “I found the day inspiring and it was great to see so many happy children. We should do this every year.” Callum Smith, 10, who was Santa for the day said: “I didn’t expect it to be this fun.” We would like to thank the Metropolitan Police, London Borough of Hounslow and DHL for donating the gifts and hampers to our community. In addition a big thanks to our brilliant volunteers (Sanjay, Ajay, Saim, Rhys, Jit, Haroon, Mario, Callum, Rachel, Anjali, Rajan, Arjun, Jake, Shariq and Samhita) for helping support this great cause.
