By Taz Virdee Picking up litter isn’t exactly a fun way to spend your Sunday morning however our young volunteers (Anjali, Caitlin, Cammeron, Haroon, Juhi, Neha, Rhys, Serena and Subhan) brought along their joy, passion and enthusiasm to make the day not just fun but exciting and inspiring! We were also joined by dedicated volunteers Debbie, Terry and Brian. Despite the crazy weather – all four seasons in two hours including a few manic minutes being attacked by hail, we managed to send a message to the local community – if we can, they can! The Big Local Youth Action Team (above) making a positive difference to our area. Committee Member Debbie said: “Despite being hit by hail and rain our Heston West volunteers showed great team spirit when tackling the litter crisis across Heston West. I felt proud to see so many people get involved to make the area litter free.”
Terry – a local resident living in the area for over 50 years added: “It was a wonderful mixture of both young and old working together to clean up the local area." We would like to thank all our dedicated volunteers, the MADE in HESTON WEST film crew, Hounslow Highways for providing us with the equipment and support on the day and also Cranford Community College. We hope this event inspired a few more residents to help keep our area more clean and safe for everyone to enjoy.
