By Alan Fraser **LAST UPDATED 11.03.2020** The Heston West Big Local Partnership Board met on 10th March to consider their response to the Coronavirus also known as Covid -19. The Board agreed that they would follow government and Public Health England guidelines. Therefore it is business as usual and we will continue to plan and run all the amazing activities and events that support our community. We will continue to monitor the situation and act on any further guidance and measures from Public Health England and the government. The Board would like to ask you for your support at this time. We are aware of some ‘fake news’ that is circulating in our community for example you can catch Covid-19 from eating chicken. This is not true and has no basis in medical or scientific fact. Indeed some of this ‘fake news’ may put you at greater risk by giving a false sense of protection. Please only pay attention to information and advice from reliable sources such as the BBC or now the HWBL website. If you receive a message from family and friends which is not from a reliable source please ignore it and certainly do not forward it or act on it. It is not desirable to create a sense of worry and panic in our community. The Board was very clear that we will continue to offer hope and support to our community. At the moment we are still in the containment phase with key messages of catch it, bin it, kill it and frequently washing hands with soap and water . Any change in advice from Public Health England and the government will be met with a proportional rationale response from HWBL.
