By Taz Virdee Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July 2017: NCS The Challenge joined the Big Local for a second weekend in a row to support both our Multi-Sports and Youth Film-making sessions! Saturday's Multi-Sports (running for a second year) has steadily grown in popularity, the sessions run by QPR Trust are fun and a great opportunity for children to develop confidence and key leadership skills. Kelvin Robinson, Multi-Sports Coach said: "Multi-Sports have really helped our young children grow and take on new responsibilities during the sessions, such as: organising team activities and supporting us with delivery. Although the sessions are aimed at children having fun and learning new sports, we also try and develop leadership roles within the sessions. It's been a great year!" One child, 9, who has attended nearly all the sessions this year, added: "I really love coming to Multi-Sports, it's the highlight of my week and I always tell my mum to take me. I love football but also other sports I didn't play before. Thank you for putting on the Multi-Sports." On Sunday's MADE in HESTON WEST youth film-making session, NCS The Challenge were challenged to create two short films about health and sport alongside our young crew. The two ideas generated were: Women in Sport and Mental Health. Working together with NCS The Challenge was a great opportunity for our young people to learn but also a chance to shine. Sharan, 13, said: "It was really fun day and it was great working with the NCS crew. I learned loads, it was a fantastic experience. I also taught them a few things on how to use the camera, so I'm happy." We would like to thanks both QPR Trust and NCS The Challenge for their continued support for our community.
